Privacy Policy — QuizClimber

Welcome to QuizClimber. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect information when you use our mobile application built with React Native. QuizClimber uses Firebase services and displays ads. By using the app you agree to the collection and use of information as described below.

1. Information We Collect

We may collect the following categories of information:

  • Personal Information: Email address and username when you create an account or contact us.
  • Usage Data: How you use the app (screens visited, quizzes taken, scores, timestamps).
  • Device & Technical Data: Device model, operating system version, unique device identifiers, app version, crash logs.
  • Analytics Data: Events and engagement data collected by analytics platforms (see Third Parties).
  • Advertising Identifiers: Advertising ID (GAID on Android / IDFA on iOS) used to serve and measure ads.

Note: We do NOT knowingly collect sensitive personal data such as financial information, health information, or government identifiers.

2. How We Use Information

  • To provide and operate the app features (quizzes, leaderboards, profile).
  • To improve and personalize the app experience through analytics and A/B testing.
  • To deliver relevant ads and measure ad performance.
  • To diagnose and fix technical issues and crashes.
  • To communicate with you about updates, support requests, and policy changes (where permitted by law).

3. Sharing & Third Parties

We use service providers to help operate the app. These providers may process data on our behalf. Key services we use include:

  • Firebase: Authentication, Realtime Database / Firestore, Cloud Storage, Crashlytics, Performance Monitoring, and Firebase Analytics.
  • Advertising SDKs: Ad networks and mediation platforms used to serve ads inside the app.

These third-party services have their own privacy policies and may collect data independently. We recommend reviewing their policies for details.

4. Ads, Tracking & Advertising Identifiers

QuizClimber displays ads to support development. We and our advertising partners may use advertising identifiers (such as Android Advertising ID or Apple IDFA) and other signals to provide personalized ads and measure ad performance. You can control ad personalization using the device settings or the advertising opt-out controls provided by Google and Apple.

If you wish to opt out of personalized advertising, please use your device controls or the ad-network preference pages.

5. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights such as:

  • Accessing the personal information we hold about you.
  • Requesting correction or deletion of your personal information.
  • Objecting to or restricting certain processing, including profiling.

We take reasonable administrative, technical, and physical measures to protect data. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure — we cannot guarantee absolute security. If a breach affecting your data occurs, we will follow applicable notification requirements.

8. Children’s Privacy

QuizClimber is not intended for children under the age of 13 (or a higher age where required by local law). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us to request deletion.

9. International Transfers

Data collected may be processed in countries other than your country of residence (for example, where Firebase and our providers operate). By using the app, you consent to such transfers.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Effective date" at the top and notify you as required by law. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
